Scholarships
Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships
SCHOLARSHIP FOR DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS
- Complete the 2007-2008 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Include both your and your parent’s income information even if you are considered an independent student for federal financial aid.
- Include Texas State University school code on the FAFSA (003615).
- Submit a signed copy of your and your parents 2006 Income Tax Return to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at Texas State University.
- Be a citizen or national of the United States or a lawful permanent resident of the United State, the commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa or the Trust Territory of the Pacific.
- Be enrolled full-time in programs leading to a specific health degree.
- Show financial need.
- Be determined to have come from an economically disadvantaged background as determined by the Low Income Level chart below. (The parent’s income must be used regardless of independent/dependent, age, or marital status.)

HISPANIC POLICY NETWORK SCHOLARSHIP
Hispanic Policy Network (HPN) is now accepting applications for at least three $1,000 undergraduate students enrolled at Texas State University for Fall 2007. Deadline for submitting applications is April 13, 2007. Special consideration is given to dependents of Texas State employees, first generation college students, those with unmet financial need. Graduate Students
The Department of Communication Disorders has several sources of financial assistance available for graduate students. Listed below are the sources, eligibility requirements, and application procedures.
GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS
(a) Departmental graduate assistantships are available on a competitive basis. Applicants should apply to the Department Chair each semester prior to the semester in which assistance is desired. Applications for the fall semester need to be completed by September 1st. Appointments of graduate assistants are determined by faculty review.
(b) Requirements: Students must have a high overall grade point average (minimum 3.0 on 4.0 scale), faculty recommendation, documentation of academic strength and clinical expertise (grade of B or better) in coursework and disorder area requiring graduate assistant (courses vary by semester), and full-time on-campus enrollment (not participating in off-campus practicum).
(c) Application Procedure: Completed application and supporting documentation submitted to the Department Chair by dates indicated above.
(d) Application materials may be obtained from the Department Administrative Assistant.
(e) Salary: Approximately $564/month.
(f) Service requirements: Approximately 10 hours per week.
SERTOMA SCHOLARSHIP
(a) This scholarship was established by the generosity of the San Marcos SERTOMA Club
(b) Criteria and applications may be obtained from Therese Kosary (TK02@txstate.edu), the current chapter president and advisor of the student SERTOMA organization on campus.
DELMAR CENGAGE Learning-Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences & Disorders (CAPCSD) Research Scholarship
(a) This award will be given to a student whose research project, completed during the Master's program is deemed worthy of recognition
