The Texas State University CLS Program has changed it name to:
Medical Laboratory Science Program
By Fall 2024 everything will have been changed from CLS to MLS and from Clinical to Medical. However, for the next couples of months you will need to check both names when looking for information.
REMINDER:
The application period for Fall 2024 is now closed.
Applications for Fall 2025 will be available in September 2024
You must complete the quiz at the end of the Admissions Module to begin the process of getting an application. You may do this anytime and your name will be added to the database of students to receive application in the fall.

The Medical Laboratory Science Major at Texas State University
Medical laboratory professionals form the backbone of health care and the public health system. They conduct some 13 billion laboratory medicine tests annually in the U.S. Why should anyone care? Laboratory testing is the single highest-volume medical activity affecting Americans, and it drives about two-thirds of all medical decisions made by doctors and other health care professionals. Simply put, every time you enter a hospital or health care facility for care, your life is in the hands of a medical laboratory professional.
Our program has a 92% three year passing rate on the MLS (ASCP) exam! CONGRATULATIONS to #TxStCLS Cohort 2016, 2017, and 2019 for a 100% success rate on the ASCP (MLS) exam! Read the CLS Pass rate story here! And for 2017 here!
