The Computer Center is open to all students and faculty in the College of Health Professions. The Computer Center is not open for general use to students outside the College. Advanced Statistical software such as SPSS and SAS is available for use by students outside the College of Health Professions if they are taking a class where their faculty member has obtained permission for them to use the lab.
For further information about the operation of the lab or to obtain permission to use the lab for statistical software, contact the Lab Coordinator at 512.245.2532 or send an e-mail to the Lab Coordinator.

Printing Policy
For the past two (2) years, only students enrolled in HP 2351 and HP 3302 were able to print in the Computer Lab. Now, other students will be able to print by purchasing printing rights. The College of Health Professions and the University have instituted a pilot program of print management that, if successful, will eventually be campus wide. The print management program is called PaperCut. A description of how the program works follows.
If a student wishes to print, he or she can go down to the Dean's Office in room 201 and purchase a PaperCut print card for $10. The instructions for using the card are printed on the back. In order to activate printing, the student must log on to one of the lab computers and connect to the web based PaperCut program using the icon on the Desktop. Then the student logs in using his/her Texas State username and passwrod. The student enables printing by selecting the 'Use Card' option and will be prompted to enter the code that is printed on the card. Once entered and submitted, the amount will be deposited to their account. The account will be debited $0.02 for each page printed ion the black and white printers and $0.10 for each page printed on the color printer. There is no charge for the cover page that identifies the user. Once the card is used, the code is no longer activeso someone else can't use the same card. the PaperCut site allows the user to keep track of printing plus, it allows the user to transfer part of the balance to other users. This is particularly useful if students want to share printing rights. For example: if 2 students each contributed $5 to purchase a $10 PaperCut card, one student could activate the card and then transfer $5.00 to the other student.
Whenever a student logs in to a lab computer, a PaperCut client pop-up will display the user's balance. This will be $0.00 unless the student is in HP 2351, HP 3305, has purchased and activated the code on a PaperCut card or has had funds transferred from another user's account. IMPORTANT!!! Make sure to log off the computer when done. Otherwise, others can use that computer and print off your balance.
