LTC Patrick Martinez

Lieutenant Colonel Patrick “Adam” Martinez is Deputy Division Chief, Aeromedical Evacuation (AE) & Medical Readiness Plans at Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Surgeon General’s Office, Scott AFB, Illinois.  He leads a 28 member staff to respond to contingency, disaster and homeland security planning; executing a $25M operations budget.  He provides vision to organize, train and equip forces to project medical global emergency response capabilities.  He oversees strategic planning and life cycle management of 61 medical equipment packages, $284M in War Reserve Materiel and $110M in Patient Movement Items program.

Colonel Martinez received his direct commission in the United States Air Force in 1996.  He has served as a flight commander in a variety of positions to include TRICARE operations, Resource Management, Patient and Personnel Administration, and Group Practice Management. He was selected as a Health Services Administration Instructor having instructed over 300 students in Resource Management.  He was selected for an AFIT assignment obtaining his third Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration.  He was selected as Director of Operations to lead the 43d AE Squadron at Pope Army Air Field, North Carolina.  He has deployed four times in support of OEF/OIF and OND.  He was selected to forward deploy from Kandahar, Afghanistan to Al Udeid, Qatar, to command the 379th Expeditionary AE Squadron.  His previous assignment was as a Squadron Commander of the 30th Medical Support Squadron at Vandenberg AFB, California where he also served as the Deputy Group Commander.

Last year's conference and banquet was moved to the spring semester and took place on Friday, April 17th at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in San Marcos, Texas.

Last year's theme was "Strategy for Healthcare Administration in the Future of Texas."  Leaders in healthcare presented their strategic thoughts and experience relative to the future of healthcare administration considering the political climate, the reimbursement and regulatory environment, and the changing needs of our population.

The conference was free to participants and open to anyone interested.  The banquet was $35 per person with meals of award winners covered by the department thanks to the generous donations received in the past. 

Darcy Argueta received the Rappaport Award and Tiara Alderman received the Noone Award.
