Dr. Brooks is a retired Army Medical Service Corps officer where he was a hospital administrator in the Federal Health Sector for over 21 years, culminating in serving as the Deputy Commander for Administration for the 14th Combat Support Hospital in Iraq 2009. He was the Deputy Program Director and Associate Professor at the 11th ranked Army-Baylor MHA/MBA dual-degree program for five years. He is currently a tenured Associate Professor & Director, School of Health Administration at Texas State University in the College of Health Professions. He is a former CAHME Fellow and is currently serving as a member of the CAHME Standards Council serving a second three year term. He holds dual board certifications in healthcare administration and public health. He has published 15 articles in 10 different healthcare journals and presents frequently at national conferences. Dr. Brooks was selected as the new Director for the School of Health Administration effective September 1, 2014.
