Prior to joining the faculty in 1986, Dr. Nowicki was director of process management in the hospital division of Humana. Dr. Nowicki's teaching and research interests include management and financial management. Dr. Nowicki has earned the College of Health Professions Teaching Excellence Award and Teacher of the Year Award and the University's Teaching Excellence Award. Dr. Nowicki has also earned the College Research Excellence Award twice and the College Service Excellence Award. At the national level, Dr. Nowicki has been nominated to MedPac and the AICPA for national accounting professor of the year. Dr. Nowicki is board certified and a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served as President of the Central Texas Chapter and currently serves as Regent for Texas--Central & South Texas. Dr. Nowicki is also board certified and a fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association and has served as the President of the South Texas Chapter, Regional Executive for the seven chapters in Region 9, Board Member for the National Board of Directors, Chairman for the National Board of Examiners, and Chair of both the Chapter Services Council and the Forums Council. Dr. Nowicki currently serves on the national faculty of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
