Dr. Renick is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the American Bar Association, and holds memberships in two state bar associations. He served as Chair & Vice Chair of the Faculty Senate and as Vice Chair of the Interfaith Caregivers Alliance. Prior to coming to Texas State in 1990, Renick spent almost 20 years in the health care industry. He has been the chief executive of three organizations, including managed care organizations in Chicago and New Orleans. Named Who's Who in America, Oren has been selected to present the annual Presidential Seminar, chosen Faculty of the Year and Teacher of the Year (College of Health Professions) and recognized by Alpha Chi and Golden Key. Renick has been the Principal Investigator for grants and contracts totaling approximately $5,000,000. A frequent contributor to professional journals and presenter at professional conferences, his major scholarly interests are civil rights, civic engagement, continuous quality improvement, managed care, health care law and ethics, and baseball and American culture.
