Prior to joining the faculty in 1993, Dr. Sorensen was an international consultant and associate professor and director of the Army/Baylor graduate program in health care administration. Dr. Sorensen's teaching and research interests include information systems, organizational behavior, and human services management. Dr. Sorensen is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, serving as president of the San Antonio Chapter from 1985 to 1989 and the Central Texas Chapter from 2001 to 2004. He also received the Lone Star Chapter Senior Executive Award in 1998.
