Prior to joining the faculty in 1974, Mr. Mooney was director of education and training at the Bexar County Hospital District. Mr. Mooney's teaching and research interests include human resource management, material management, health law, employment law, and managerial/executive development. Mr. Mooney received the SWT College of Health Professions Service Excellence Award in 1996, 2003, and in 2006. He is a member in the Society of Human Resource Management, the Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHA), the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (AHA), and the Texas Society of Healthcare Educators, serving as president in 1972 and 1992, and is a faculty associate in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
