Prior to joining the faculty in 2009, Ms. Lozano was an adjunct lecturer of Sociology at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio Texas. In addition, Ms. Lozano was an Assistant Professor of Gerontology at San Antonio College. Ms. Lozano has over 10 years of experience in the field of Healthcare Administration, with a focus on Psychiatric Services. Ms. Lozano is a member of the Gerontology Society of America, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapist, National Association of Social Workers and Sigma Phi Omega. Ms. Lozano has served on the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer’s Association, Bexar Area Agency on Aging, Christian Senior Services, Long Term Care Coalition, Not Forgotten Coalition and the Task Force against Elder Domestic Violence. Ms. Lozano’s research interests include Domestic Violence Issues in the Older Woman, Caregiver Issues in the Latino Family in Long Term Care settings and Mental Health Issues in Long Term Care settings.
