UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
University Women's Scholarship
Criteria:
· Based on academic achievement and merit.
· The recipient must be pursuing an undergraduate degree from Texas State, be 25 years of age or older, be enrolled for a minimum of nine hours, and have an overall 3.0 GPA.
· Preference is given to female students.

Judge Terry Jacks Memorial Scholarship
* Awarded to Hays County residents who have high school diplomas or the equivalent from Hays County.
* Selection based on academic and extracurricular activities.
* Contact the Development Office, University Advancement at (512) 245-2396 and/or Office of Student Financial Aid at (512) 245-2315.
Presidential Upper-Level Scholarships
One $1,200 scholarship awarded annually by each of the university's seven undergraduate schools for one academic year only.
Criteria:
· Applicants must have earned 60 semester hours or more, 30 of which must have been earned at Texas State.
· Selection based on outstanding academic achievement and leadership abilities.

The President's Endowed Scholarship Program
Any student applying for a scholarship under this program must meet the general criteria listed below, plus any additional requirements listed under each specific scholarship. For more information and a general scholarship application, contact the Office of Student Financial Aid at (512) 245-2315 or the Development Office of University Advancement at (512) 245-2396. The President's Endowed Scholarship Program provides scholarship assistance for:
First-year students
$1,000 annual award, renewable up to four years with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.
Criteria:
* Minimum ACT score of 24 or SAT scores of 1000
* Rank in the upper quarter of high school graduating class
Juniors and seniors
$1,200 for one year
Criteria:
* Minimum GPA of 3.25
* Outstanding scholarship achievement
LBJ Outstanding Senior Award
A $1,500 cash award presented each year to one student who has demonstrated and practiced the highest standards of leadership, integrity, extracurricular achievement, academic achievement and involvement at Texas State.
Criteria:
· Applicants must have a minimum of 60 Texas State hours and be a candidate for graduation in the spring of the year awarded or have graduated the previous winter or summer semester.
· Applicants must be nominated for this award. Any Texas State faculty, staff, student body member or any member of the Alumni Association may submit nominations.

Office of Student Financial Aid Upper-Division Scholarships
Several scholarships from $200-$1,000 awarded annually.
Criteria:
· Awarded based on academic achievement (GPA). Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0., including transfer credit.
· Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are enrolled as full-time, undergraduate students.
· Recipients must have at least 60 semester hours at the time of the first scholarship disbursement, of which at least 30 semester hours must have been completed at Texas State.
· Recipients may not be receiving University Scholars, Presidential Upper-Level Scholarships, Craddock Scholarships or other scholarships valued at $1,000 or more during the same year this scholarship is received.
· Renewable for a second year, but students must re-apply.
· Contact the Office of Student Financial Aid at (512) 245-2315 for an application.
Life Care Foundation Long-Term Care Scholarship
Two $2,000 scholarships awarded annually, one in the fall and one in the spring.
Criteria:
* Available to upper-division undergraduate students majoring in Long-Term Health Care.
* Applicants must have a minimum 3.20 GPA in the major, a 3.0 Texas State GPA overall, and have demonstrated leadership qualities and a commitment to service in the field of long-term care administration

AMERICAN COLLEGE OF HEALTHCARE EXECUTIVES-SPONSORED SCHOLARSHIPS
Albert W. Dent Student Scholarship
The Board of Governors of the Foundation of the American College of Healthcare Executives established and named the Albert W. Dent Student Scholarship in honor of its first black Fellow. Dr. Dent, president emeritus of Dillard University, New Orleans, became an ACHE Fellow in 1939.
Scholarship Objectives
The Albert W. Dent Student Scholarship was established to:
* Provide financial aid and increase the enrollment of minority students in healthcare management graduate programs. (Minority qualification is based on the definition by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.)
* Encourage students-through structured, formalized study-to obtain positions in middle and upper levels of healthcare management.
Eligible Candidates
You are eligible to apply for an Albert W. Dent Student Scholarship if you meet all of the following criteria:
* You are a Student Associate of the American College of Healthcare Executives and are in good standing.
* You are a minority student who is enrolled for full-time study for the upcoming fall term, which is your final year in a healthcare management graduate program.
* You can demonstrate financial need.
* You are a U.S. or Canadian citizen.
* You have not been a previous recipient.
How to Apply
The Albert W. Dent Student Scholarship is offered annually. Each scholarship is for $3,500; the number awarded varies from year to year.
Because the Foundation receives more applications for scholarships than it can honor, it has instructed the director of each graduate program to recommend students who, in the upcoming fall term, will be entering their final year of the program.
The Foundation accepts applications for scholarships each year between January 1 and March 31. Students selected to receive scholarships are announced in July.
Foster G. McGaw Student Scholarship
Since 1969, ACHE has administered the Foster G. McGaw Student Scholarship, named after the founder of the American Hospital Supply Corporation. The Foster G. McGaw Charitable Fund contributed an initial gift of $150,000. Additional gifts were made by Mr. McGaw from his personal funds before his death in 1986.
Scholarship Objective:
The purpose of the scholarship is to help students better prepare Themselves for healthcare management, thereby contributing to improvements in the field.
Eligible Candidates

STC-ACHE Student Financial Assistance Program
The South Texas Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (STC-ACHE) has created a student financial assistance program. In 2007, the STC-ACHE will provide up to four $500 awards. The awards will be either academic scholarships or professional society meeting sponsorship.
Descriptions:
Academic Scholarship: The purpose of this academic scholarship is to recognize an outstanding student and provide him/her with financial assistance that can be used toward tuition and books.
Professional Society Meeting Sponsorship: The purpose this professional society meeting sponsorship is to recognize an outstanding student and provide him/her with financial assistance that can be used toward registration, travel, and lodging associated with attending an ACHE meeting (e.g. ACHE Congress).
Eligibility: The applicant must be a member of the STC-ACHE and ACHE, reside in the STC ACHE region, and be enrolled in a master’s or a doctoral degree program with a primary focus or a concentration in healthcare administration or leadership (e.g. MHA, MBA, MPH, PhD in healthcare leadership).
Deadline: The application must be submitted electronically to the President-Elect by October 31, 2007.
