Scholarships

Scholarship for Disadvantaged Students
To Apply:
  • Complete the 200-2008 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Include both your and your parent’s income information even if you are considered an independent student for federal financial aid.
  • Include Texas State University school code on the FAFSA (003615).
  • Submit a signed copy of your and your parents 2006 Income Tax Return to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at Texas State University.
Applicant must:
  • Be a citizen or national of the United States or a lawful permanent resident of the United State, the commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa or the Trust Territory of the Pacific.
  • Be enrolled full-time in programs leading to a specific health degree.
  • Show financial need.
  • Be determined to have come from an economically disadvantaged background as determined by the Low Income Level chart below. (The parent’s income must be used regardless of independent/dependent, age, or marital status.)

For each additional person add: $ 6,800

* Low Income Level, based on 200 percent of the Department of Health and Human Services poverty guidelines, is used to determine what constitutes a low-income family for the purposes of the SDS programs for the Academic Year 2007-2008

Deadline:

FAFSA completed and all tax forms submitted to the Office of Financial and Scholarships at Texas State University by November 1, 2007.
