Advising Plan Request

Students can request an advising plan for Summer/Fall 2020 by filling out the Advising Plan Request below. An academic advisor will review your request, create a proposed class plan for you in the Degree Works Planner, and send you an email within 3-5 business days about how to find your completed plan.

Please review the guidelines below:

  • You must have a major declared in the College of Health Professions
    • If you need to make curriculum changes, call 512-245-3406 for instructions.
  • You must be a currently enrolled Texas State student or transfer/readmit student admitted to attend in Summer/Fall 2020.
  • This is not intended for long term planning, but rather to assist with registration for the upcoming semester(s).
  • Course options will be provided based on your current Texas State major and minor.
  • Your academic advisor may take 3-5 business days to complete your academic plan. Wait times may increase during high-volume advising periods. Request a plan well in advance of your registration day and time.
  • Check your access periods here: http://www.registrar.txstate.edu/registration/access-periods.html
  • If you haven't received a plan by your registration day and time, do not wait to register. Register for courses using your Degree Audit and the Undergraduate Catalog as a guide, and use your advising plan to make changes later as needed.
  • An email will be sent to your Texas State email account once the plan has been completed.
  • If the academic advisor creating your Advising Plan has questions or concerns about your plan, you may be required to schedule a one-on-one appointment with an advisor.
  • Your academic advisor does not have access to your financial aid, VA, or scholarship records and thus does not know the GPA, credit hour, etc. requirements for your aid package. Please request an Advising Plan with credit hours sufficient to meet both your academic and financial aid, VA, or scholarship requirements.
  • If you have received notification that you were conditionally admitted to a Health Professions major, your department will contact you regarding your Fall 2020 schedule. Please follow up with the department office if you have questions about program admission status or your fall schedule if admitted.
