Academic Probation Policy
A student will be placed on academic probation at the end of the fall or spring semester in which their Texas State GPA is less than a 2.0. A student will be removed from academic probation at the end of any long semester or summer term if there Texas State GPA is at least a 2.0 or higher.
Students placed on academic probation are given two probationary semesters (fall or spring terms) to raise their Texas State GPA to a 2.0 or higher.
Students must meet minimum academic standards in work completed at Texas State. Only grades earned at Texas State are considered for academic probation and suspension status. Courses repeated outside Texas State that were originally taken at Texas State will not replace the original grades earned in Texas State GPA.
