Tuition Rebate for Graduating Students

Tuition Rebate Information

Under Texas Education Code ยง54.0065, qualified students will receive up to a $1,000 tuition rebate upon graduation from Texas State.

Tuition Rebate Submission

Tuition Rebate applications must be submitted no later than the Monday immediately after commencement by 5 p.m.

Tuition Rebate Application Processing

Any tuition rebate application must be turned into the student's academic advising center before 5 p.m. on the Monday immediately following the commencement ceremony.

Our advising center staff will begin processing applications after degrees post. It will take 4 to 6 weeks after degrees post to process all applications and notify students of their application status. Our office will contact each applicant through email to inform them whether or not they are meeting the academic eligibility requirements. If the applicant is not eligible, we will list out the requirement(s) that they are not meeting. If the applicant is eligible, we will forward their application to Student Business Services. SBS will verify the applicant is meeting the non-academic requirements, then begin processing rebates.

If our office notifies a student that they are not eligible for a tuition rebate and the student is able to demonstrate a hardship accounted for in UPPS 03.01.13, Section 02.02, the student may submit a Hardship Justification Form to their advising center with the appropriate documentation no later than 30 days after supervisor of the academic advising center determines ineligibility. The Hardship Justification Form can be downloaded from the Tuition Rebate Information page.
