Rebecca Denham

Graduation Ceremony

Rebecca started working at the Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas in Austin as her first MLS job. She worked there for 5 years and was promoted to Laboratory Manager for the Blood Center.  While working at the Blood Center, Rebecca completed her Master’s degree in Public Health with an emphasis on Epidemiology and Infection Control at the University of Texas School of Public Health.  After completing her MPH,  Rebecca received her Specialist in Blood Banking certificate after completing a 2 year SBB program through Blood Systems.

Rebecca is currently Transfusion Services manager at Memorial Hermann Southwest hospital in Houston, TX.  Rebecca became adjunct faculty at Texas State University and taught Blood Banking and Microbiology.  Rebecca has also taught labs and lectures for our program.

Rebecca, fellow classmate Aaron Brannon and Professor Rodney E. Rohde published an article in the journal, Clinical Laboratory Science, “Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus: Carriage Rates and Characterization of Students in a Texas University.”
