Health Administration Minor

Undergraduate Minor in Healthcare Administration
(18 Semester Hours)

The School of Health Administration is pleased to announce the availability of a minor in one of our most exciting fields of study and work; healthcare administration! For undergraduate students currently enrolled in another major, the undergraduate program in healthcare administration includes an opportunity to choose from a select group of courses, drawn from the Bachelor of Healthcare Administration curriculum. The healthcare administration (HA) minor is designed to complement such other majors with the objective of providing an introductory curriculum which can importantly assist a student with gaining employment in healthcare and healthcare related career fields.

This objective can be achieved with the HA minor by:

  • building on general studies foundations
  • introducing students to health services management functions through the mastery of certain skills including communication, decision-making, and coordination, unique to healthcare administration
  • preparing students for graduate study

A minor in healthcare administration requires eighteen (18) hours of study, including nine (9) hours of core required courses and nine (9) hours of electives chosen from a field of twenty-one (21) hours:

Required Courses:

  • HA 3308 - Healthcare Organization - must be taken first semester

To add HA as a minor, you must contact your major advisor.
