Overview

Welcome!

Welcome to Texas State University, School of Health Administration. I assumed the role as Director for the School effective 1 June 2020. I enjoy being a part of the exciting future for the school.

The field of health administration education continues to be in high demand and is listed in the top five of growing fields. Our mission at the school is "To prepare health leaders to serve in a variety of diverse healthcare environments and add to the body of knowledge in our fields." Our vision is "To be the health administration school of choice for students, faculty, alumni and employers." Obviously, to accomplish this we need the full efforts of all faculty, staff, students, alumni, preceptors, and employers associated with our school to work together.

We are focusing on more meaningful and sustained alumni involvement in the school, and we have many new exciting initiatives to help us on that path. I am in the process of completing the new strategic plan for the school for 2023-2027 and am using the Balanced Scorecard method to assist in this process. Previous initiatives added a Bachelor of Science with a major in Health Sciences (started Fall 2019) and a Master of Long-Term Care Administration. This is now completed and (started Fall of 2022). With the cooperation of the McCoy College of Business, we intend to propose a Dual MHA/MBA for this next cycle.

I look forward to working with everyone as we focus on making the School of Health Administration one of the best in the Nation. We have a tremendous group of faculty and staff, students, alumni, and employers that will continue to grow in numbers and talent in the future. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you might have. Again, I look forward to what we will all collectively accomplish in the future.
