DPT ll's Visit Ritchie Limb and Brace
DPT IIs in Patient Care Skills II visit Ritchie Limb and Brace, in New Braunfels, Texas. Dr. David Ritchie, CPO/LPO, C.Ped arranged for all 41 of our students to spend a morning at his clinic. The students were given a unique opportunity to observe fitting and manufacturing techniques for prosthetics and orthotics. David also invited 3 of his clients to come, share their experiences and give the students first hand experience of evaluating patients with amputations. This was a very valuable experience for our students.
The PT Department is proud to announce the 2016 recipients of the Barbara Melzer Scholarship: Katherine Franklin and Sean Buchner. This scholarship was established to honor Dr. Melzer’s long time commitment to community service and excellence in clinical education and is awarded to 3rd year DPT students during the clinical experience portion of the program. Congratulations to Katie and Sean - and thanks for submitting pictures from your clinical sites!
