About Our Clinic

The Communication Disorders Program at Texas State University is very fortunate to be located in a growing, diverse demographic location.  Not only do our students have the opportunity to work with people who have unique and varied clinical disorders, but they are also able to interact with a very diverse population.  This diversity is also reflected in our student body composition.

The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at Texas State University is the clinical training facility in the Department of Communication Disorders. It is a professional clinic, and all clinical supervisors are nationally certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed in the state of Texas.  Through live and videotaped sessions, students learn to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to infants, toddlers, school-aged children, adolescents, and adults with various disorders of speech, language and hearing.  Professional supervisors provide continuous and ongoing direct supervision of the assessment and intervention activities in the clinic.  The primary purpose of the clinic is the provision of hands-on evidence-based clinical learning experiences for students.  The secondary purpose is the provision of quality professional services to persons in the Round Rock and Central Texas community.  The clinic provides prevention, assessment, and treatment of speech, language, swallowing and hearing disorders, serving people across the lifespan.

In accordance with the Texas State University policy, no person shall be excluded from participation in, or be subject to discrimination by the Texas State University Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic on any basis prohibited by applicable law, including, but not limited to, race, national origin, citizenship, age, sex, religion, disability, veterans' status, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, or gender expression. Additionally, Texas State prohibits retaliation against a person who files a harassment or discrimination complaint, or who assists or participates in the investigation of a report.
