Competitive admission to the BSRC Program is granted each fall with a cohort size of 40. Application deadline is May 1 for consideration of admission to the fall class each year.

Finally, applicants should be aware that the University does not control the individual requirements of hospital systems for clinical rotations and employment and that such requirements might directly impact an applicant’s ability to complete their clinical education, obtain future employment, or obtain appropriate licensure.

AS-to-BSRC Completion for RRT's

Respiratory Care Practitioners with a RRT credential are welcome to apply to Texas State to complete the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care. All transfer students MUST be advised on an individualize basis due to varied college backgrounds, but usually a RRT therapist with an associate degree may complete the BSRC option within a 2-year period as a full-time student. Individual course transcript review and academic advising is required to correctly calculate degree requirement completion.  The current BSRC degree is 120 hours in length and all RC and academic requirements must be satisfied before the degree and RRT-eligibility can be conferred. For information regarding the curriculum and the RC courses required for AS-to-BS completion, please refer to the document below and also make an appointment with the department chair to discuss your individual degree plan.
