Advising

Degree Audit Records (DARS)

During the spring semester in the RC program, the Chair will initiate a Texas State DARS for each student. This degree outline can be accessed by the student online through Catsweb and will serve as the contract between the student and the university to list all academic core and professional coursework required for the student to receive the BSRC degree. Upon receiving a copy of the completed and signed DARS, it is advised that the student meet with the Chair to discuss the identified requirements and establish an academic plan. For more information go to the DARS website.

Degree Summary

When a student has completed all but 30 semester hours of the BSRC degree requirements, the student should apply for a degree Summary by completing the Degree Summary Application form. (Available from the RC Department or the CHP Academic Advising Office). The final Degree Summary will be completed by the Dean's Office and will list the courses remaining to be taken as well as grade- point averages in all college courses If any of the grade-point averages are lower than the average required for graduation (2.0 GPA overall and 2.5 in RC major), the summary can be used for deciding how the GPA can be raised in the remaining course work.
