Cancer Care Centers of South Texas has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Technologist in a busy oncology/hematology practice located in New Braunfels, Texas. Responsible for accurately performing specimen analysis, instrument maintenance, and quality control procedures including moderate and high complexity laboratory tests. Initiates and follows quality assurance and safety policies and procedures. Performs specimen collection and assists with patient flow as needed. Trains employees in laboratory procedures. May act as primary operator for at least one laboratory instrument. Acts as a resource for laboratory science information. Hours are variable between 6:00 am – 6:00 pm. Candidate must being willing to work in other sites located in San Antonio and Boerne. Well organized and a self started preferred. General PC knowledge preferred. Requirements for Medical Technologist includes:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited Medical Technology program
Years of experience necessary for each level.
level I - completion of one year internship program or successful completion of a structured clinical program and certified in clinical laboratory sciences by a recognized certifying agency.
level II - Minimum three years experience as a medical technologist.
level III - Minimum five years of professional experience as a medical technologist.
AMT or equivalent certification required, ASCP preferred (for level I - AMT, ASCP or equivalent certification preferred but may be registry eligible or pending.

We have an opening and wish to interview at least 2-3 candidates for a Medical Technologist/CLS position in our Clinical Laboratory. We are looking for a registry eligible (e.g., ASCP) candidate with initiative and an eagerness to continue to learn and expand his/her technical knowledge. This position would eventually become a generalist position and would include the patient testing areas of Microbiology, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Immunology and Chemistry.
Cyto Laboratories is a CAP (College of American Pathologists) approved laboratory which has been in the public health sector of the Cytology Laboratory business for several years. This year we have expanded into Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation and Immunology. We are currently in the process of expanding the Microbiology laboratory services. Our next hire would first begin training and working in our Microbiology Laboratory under the direction of our Assistant Laboratory Supervisor.
It is our plan to interview qualified candidates this month. The new hire would start with our organization just after the first of the New Year.

Shift includes Instrument Maintenance, Quality Control, and Laboratory Generalist Duties in all departments of Laboratory, Pecos County Memorial Hospital (PCMH) is a new facility that serves the large Trans-Pecos Region. PCMH is located near the Big Bend area, as well as Fort Davis’ McDonald Observatory, and Guadalupe National Park. Fort Stockton is a progressive community in West Texas. Pecos County Memorial Hospital Laboratory is a CAP Accredited Laboratory with State-of-the-Art equipment. Pecos County Memorial Hospital has an excellent benefits package that includes retirement system, health, dental, and life insurance, as well as a prescription card plan, and a variety of additional health and savings plans. The entire family can have excellent health insurance for $77.00 per month. The Laboratory is staffed 24/7. Weekends are covered by contract weekend personnel, so that full-time lab staff are only required to be “Backup” on weekends every fourth week. Callback is minimal.
